PGIMS Rohtak writes to parents of protesting MBBS students; Warns rustication
PGIMS Rohtak has warned the parents of protesting MBBS students of rustication from college and expulsion from the hostel of their wards.
After the police action on the protesting MBBS students of PT BD Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences Rohtak, now the college has written to the parents and warned them of the students' rustication from college and expulsion from the hostel.
The letter reads, "You are hereby informed that your son/daughter/ward are agitating in front of Director Office, PGIMS, Rohtak since last many days which has disrupted the smooth functioning of the administrative office, Public Work and MBBS admission counselling 2022. As assurred by government all the concerns and apprehensions regarding new bond policy have been addressed and resolved."
"MBBS students of admission batches 2020-21 and 2021-22 are not attending their classes, being marked absent and their duration of course may get prolonged as per National Medical Commission norms. In that case, they will not be eligible for their examination as per schedule. Students are obstructing the government office work. This entails them liable for disciplinary action which may be rustication from the college and expulsion from the hostel," added the letter.
Doctors' Associations back protesting students
Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has tweeted, "Regarding the unlawful activity of your ward” because he is democratically protesting for a just cause! Such an act only strengthens our unity further. This is suppressing a movement, but not this time. Request a positive intervention."
Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) tweet reads, "After batons, sticks and water canons proved futile to deter the students of #PGIMS_Rohtak from democratically protesting against the arbitrary bond policy. Now #HaryanaGovt is threatening student with rustication!"
