Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate an AIIMS, laboratory, and fertiliser factory in Gorakhpur on December 7.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Gorakhpur on December 7 and inaugurate projects of around INR 10,000 crore. 

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya's tweet today reads, "PM @NarendraModi ji to unveil fertiliser factory, AIIMS and lab in Gorakhpur on 7th December."

PM Modi will inaugurate an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) that has been built at the expense of INR 1,011 crore, a fertiliser factory worth INR 8,603 crore and a hi-tech lab of ICMR-RMRC (Indian Council of Medical Research-Regional Medical Research Centre) in Gorakhpur.

On October 25, 2021, PM Modi had inaugurated nine new medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh at Hardoi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Fatehpur, Etah, Deoria, Siddhartha Nagar, and Pratapgarh. While inaugurating these institutes, PM Modi had said that with these institutes, nearly two and a half thousand new beds have been created to provide health services to the people of Uttar Pradesh and new employment opportunities have been created for over five thousand doctors and paramedics.

Recently a Right to Information (RTI) activist had alleged that Uttar Pradesh got the maximum funding for setting up new medical colleges as compared to other states of the country. He also alleged that it is due to the upcoming Assembly Elections in UP.
