Pregnant PG resident of Gandhi Medical College commits suicide

Junior Doctor Association Gandhi Medical College Bhopal has written to the Dean of Gandhi Medical College Bhopal and demanded justice for the pregnant PG resident of the institute who committed suicide after being harassed by Professors in the department.
"In view of the recent unfortunate event, JDA Bhpal is on strike effective immediately. As difficult as a strike is on everyone, it is far more difficult for a family who is seeking justice for their daughter," reads the letter.
The demands of the residents include - Head of Dept of Obstetrics and Gynaecology should resign from her position effective immediately, all those who are responsible should be suspended until a probe is underway, none of these faculties should be internal or external examiners for the next 3 years, immediate steps should be taken to ensure the healthy working environment and decreased abuse and toxicity in the departments. The residents have also demanded immediate scrapping of the seat leaving bond.
FAIMA Doctors Association has supported the demands and tweeted, "Really shocking to hear about GMC Bhopal.
This is the 2nd Suicide of PG Residents in the past 6 months. We request authorities take immediate actions @CMMadhyaPradesh & sacks the innvolved individuals. We completely support the demands of RDA GMC, Bhopal & MPJUDA. We are with u!"
"A female, pregnant PG resident hs commited suicide at GMC , Bhopal. She was continually tortured & Harrased by Professors in Dept. Her Co Residnts say dat thy r been beaten wd OT instruments, Verbally abused regularly. @CMMadhyaPradesh. Requesting u to act immediately !," tweeted Dr Rohan Krishnan, National Chairman of FAIMA.
