Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education reviews achievements in implementation of CSS across J&K

Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Manoj K Dwivedi has reviewed the physical and financial achievements for the smooth implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) across Jammu and Kashmir.
Manoj K Dwivedi, Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial achievements during this financial year for the smooth implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, a presentation was given on the functioning of the Department with respect to CSS besides other sectors like Health Institutions including New Medical Colleges, NHM, National Ayush Mission, Emergency Covid-19 Response Package (ECRP-II), National Ayush Mission, National Aids Control Programme, etc, as reported by Daily Excelsior.
Other details of the meeting
Manoj K Dwivedi asked the officers to speed up the works on the projects and remove all the bottlenecks in order to finish these projects within given deadlines and highlighted the need to prioritise projects which are at different stages of completion. He asked the concerned authorities to dedicate the projects to the public service at the earliest.
The status of works on the establishment of seven new medical colleges in order to increase MBBS Seats in the UT of J&K and also to bridge the gap in the doctor-patient ratio was also discussed in the meeting.
The attendees also talked about strengthening of State Drug Regulatory Mechanism (Modern Drug Testing Laboratory at Kathua) that would eventually increase the capacity of Drug Testing facilities and check the entry of spurious drugs into the UT of J&K. The status of the strengthening of Tertiary Care Cancer Facilities (State Cancer Institutes) in order to provide Advance Treatment facilities to the Cancer patients of the UT of J&K was also discussed.
Another important point was the up-gradation of existing State Government/Central Government Medical Colleges to increase MBBS/UG seats under the EWS Scheme Enhancement of MBBS seats to improve the doctor-patient ratio by due share to EWS Category. The meeting also had an overview of the Ayushman Bharat –PM Universal health insurance coverage of INR 5.00 lakh for all families of J&K UT.
