Prof Sunit K Singh of (Molecular Biology, Institute of Medical Sciences) BHU has been appointed as the Director of the Dr B R Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research (ACBR), New Delhi. It is a unique centre under the University of Delhi where a multispeciality group of scientists work as a cohesive team and participate in active teaching and research.

Dr B.R. Ambedkar Center for Biomedical Research (ACBR) is a unique centre under the University of Delhi where a multispeciality group of scientists work as a cohesive team and participate in active teaching and research. It has got a new Director Prof Sunit K Singh. The former director of the centre was Prof. Daman Saluja.

Prof Sunit K Singh was earlier working as a Professor and leading a research group in the area of Human Molecular Virology and Immunology in the faculty of medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He also served as a scientist at the national research laboratory Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad.

Prof Sunit K Singh: More Details

He completed his bachelor’s degree program from GB Pant University of Agri and Tech, Pantnagar, India, and his master’s degree program from the CIFE, Mumbai. After completing his master's, he joined the Department of Pediatric Rheumatology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases, University of Wuerzburg, Wuerzburg, Germany, as a biologist. He completed his PhD degree from the University of Wuerzburg in the area of molecular infection biology.

He completed his postdoctoral training at the Department of Internal Medicine, Yale University, School of Medicine, New Haven, Connecticut, USA, and the Department of Neurology, University of California Davis, California, USA, in the areas of vector-borne infectious diseases and neuroinflammation.
