There is a strong demand by the medical fraternity that only medical doctors should teach the MBBS students and not the non-medical persons, now RDA UP also came in support of this demand.

Resident Doctors Association Uttar Pradesh also supported the demand that only medical doctors should teach the MBBS students and not the non-medical person.

"@RDA_UP stand in solidarity with #AIPPCMA for their genuine demand. Medical Doctors should teach MBBS students rather than non medical person as they lack the knowledge of correlating a clinical scenario while teaching. @NMC_IND and @MoHFW_INDIA should consider this," tweeted RDA Uttar Pradesh.

The association has supported the peaceful protest by AIPPCMA (All India Pre and Para Clinical Medicos Association) against the recruitment of non-medical faculties. They said only a medical person can teach a subject like MBBS. RDA UP urged National Medical Commission and union government that in pre-paraclinical subjects only MBBS/MD doctors get recruited.

Earlier FAIMA in its letter to the union health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that "FAIMA firmly believes that in this field, where thousands of postgraduate medical teachers are available in the paraclinical field, it is not at all advisable to compromise with the standard of medical education which is highest in world by allowing non-medical teachers who have no knowledge of Applied Medicine and undergraduate curriculum of MBBS to teach them on this subject."

RDA GMC Jammu also opposed the increase in number of non-medical postgraduates as faculty members in pre and para medical branches.

"These candidates will be having no clinical exposure and will definitely lag in clinical co-relation which is ultimatelly going to affect patient care and even the medical residents in these branches will be uncomfortable to pursue their residency under these non-medical faculty members," they added.
