Renown Urologist SN Sankhwar appointed IMS- BHU Director

Prof Sankhwar was serving as the head of the Urology Department at KGMU, Lucknow

Renowned Urologist and Head of the Department of Urology, Kings George Medical University, Lucknow, Prof. S. N. Sankhwar has been appointed the new Director of the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University.

Prof. Sankhwar is also the Chief Medical Superintendent of KGMU. He has vast administrative experience and is known for his medical and academic accomplishments. His areas of expertise are general urology, male infertility, endourology and female urology. At KGMU, he has been contributing in various academic and administrative capacities.

The process of appointment of Director, IMS, was recently concluded at Banaras Hindu University. Currently Dean, Faculty of Medicine, IMS, is officiating as the Director of the Institute. Prof. Sankhwar will have a tenure of five years as Director.

Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, is an AIIMS-like institution and is in the process of upgrading its infrastructure, medical and research facilities and patient care. The institute is expected to get a fillip in its ongoing efforts of excellence under the leadership of Prof. Sankhwar.
