Hindu Rao Hospital to Deduct Salary of Those who Joined Strike; Doctors Protest Against Unjust
Additional Medical Superintendent has reportedly issued the notice mentioning the deduction in the salary of residents and DNB doctors of the hospital who participated in the doctors' strike in the month of August.
Hindu Rao Hospital, Delhi has issued a notification stating that the salary of resident doctors and DNB doctors who participated in the RG Kar case doctor strike in the month of August will be deducted for the days of strike. Reportedly, the Additional Medical Superintendent of the hospital has notified that the senior resident, junior resident and DNB doctors will be paid a salary on a work-day basis. The notice brought agony amongst the doctors claiming it unreasonable and unjust to take a stand against wrongful activity.
The notice of the Additional Medical Superintendent states that the remuneration from the month of August of Hindu Rao Hospital doctors i.e. Senior Resident (SR), Junior Resident (JR) and DNB will be released this month with a strike period to be considered as leave. If no leave is due for a doctor, then salary will be deducted for that period. In case of instruction from the senior department comes for payment of salary for the strike period, then the deducted salary will be compensated later on, as reported by ETV Bharat.
Doctors Call it Unjust
Meanwhile, the residents of Hindu Rao Hospital called the notification unjust to the doctors. They said that the doctors across the country went on strike against the Kolkata doctor rape and murder case and so did the medicos from Hindu Rao Hospital. Despite of Supreme Court's instruction of no salary or leave deduction, the administration's notification to cut salary is purely not justified.
