In yet another case of physical assault of a doctor, Dr Rohit Yadav of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital was reportedly assaulted by the family members of the patient. FAIMA, FORDA and the medical fraternity condemned the incident and demanded more security for doctors in hospitals.

Dr Rohit Yadav of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital was reportedly beaten up by the relatives of a patient. An FIR is already registered in the case.

As per the victim, the incident happened at night when 4-5 people had brought the patient, and when the doctor told the attendants to come one by one, they started beating and slapping him and also threw bottles at him.

FAIMA tweeted, "Repeatedly such incidents are increasing in numbers!We demand @HMOIndia @AmitShah @LtGovDelhi @DelhiPolice @CPDelhi to take strict action so that such incidents can be prevented in future! Requesting @mansukhmandviya & @ArvindKejriwal to increase security in hospitals!"

In yet another tweet, FAIMA said, "On Duty Doctor in casualty Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital @RMLHDelhi was physically assaulted by attendant of Patients just because Doctor was busy with other patients and they didn't want to wait!"

FORDA India's tweet reads, "Last night a resident doctor was #assaulted by rowdy attendants of a patient 

@RMLDelhi. Culprit has been arrested, #FIR has been registered. Another thread adds to the rope of violence against doctors, strangulating them at the neck."

One of the tweets on the incident reads, "Incidents of violence on doctors on daily basis, yet doctors are the ones who must learn attitude, ethics and communication. Any healthcare providing facility must spend enough on its security so that a healthier and safer envt can be created for HCWs."

The doctors have been demanding security against such incidents for a long time, and many such incidents have come to light in recent times.
