Russia has offered scholarships for 200 Indian students to pursue higher education in medicine, science and engineering at Russian universities.

The Russian government has announced as many as 200 scholarships for Indian students to pursue higher education at Russian universities. The scholarship is for UG, PG, and PhD programmes in medicine, science and engineering.

Interested candidates need to apply before February 20, 2023, at https://education-in-russia.com.

"Of the 200 scholarships, 20 of them are for MBBS programmes. Students can select the programmes and universities online," said a press release by the Russian House in Chennai.

The eligibility criteria are - the student must pass the required school or college-level exam for the scholarships which are being offered by six Russian universities. The scholarship will provide free education on the chosen speciality for the entire period of the course. The students will also be entitled to a free stay, and monthly allowance, besides Russian language education.

Earlier also, Russia offered help to Ukraine's returned Indian medical students by giving them options to complete their remaining studies at Russian universities.

The Russian House will organise Russian Education in Chennai on January 28, 2023, at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture on the Kasturi Rangan Road in Alwarpet from 11 am to 1 pm,

"As a goodwill measure, the Russian government offers scholarships for foreign students every year. The scholarship programme for 2023-24 will accommodate 200 Indian students. It is a great opportunity for them to get free higher education from the prestigious and globally recognised Russian universities of their choice," Gennadii A Rogalev, director, Russian House in Chennai said, as reported by TOI.
