SMS Medical College Doctors Strike: FORDA Came in Support of JARD and Resident Doctors

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) came in support of the Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) and SMS Medical College doctors, who have been on strike for last many days. 

Further, FORDA has asked the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Mansukh Mandviya (Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare) and Gajendra Singh Khimsar (Cabinet Minister of Government of Rajasthan) to listen to the demands made by JARD and SMS College doctors. 

In the Official tweet Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association mentioned about the reason i.e. allegation of Scapegoatism of residents for flaws of the hospital administration and that PG students were suspended since a woman delivered a baby outside the hospital premises. 

"The whole of Rajasthan goes on strike from tomorrow and still no dialogue from @RajCMO," FORDA said through an official tweet. 

Further, the federation assured the Jaipur Association Of Resident Doctors (JARD) and other state RDAs that they stand with them and requested the officials to listen to their demands. 

Reason for Doctors on Strike

A pregnant woman visited Kanwatia Hospital last week for delivery purposes but was refused by the staff for admission and denied to admit her. Consequently, she delivered her baby outside the labour room on the hospital premises. Rajasthan Health Department, after investigation, suspended three resident doctors on the grounds of 'negligence and insensitivity'. Consequently, resident doctors went and strike and refused to resume their duties until their demands were met.
