Telangana government has imposed a total ban on the private practice of doctors recruited through direct recruitment.

Telangana government has issued an order for completely banning the private practice of doctors recruited through direct recruitment.

Moreover, doctors in posts filled by transfer from the non-teaching side and recruited after the issue of this notification will also not be allowed to do private practice, as reported by TOI.

Telangana health department said in a notification, "Henceforth there shall be a total ban on private practice for the doctors recruited through direct recruitment/doctors filled by transfer from non-teaching side recruited after the issue of this notification shall not be allowed private practice."

Medical admissions cancelled in Telangana

After the National Medical Council (NMC) has cancelled the medical admissions at three private medical colleges in the state including MNR Medical College and Hospital, Sangareddy, Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences, Vikarabad and TRR Institute of Medical Sciences, Patancheru. The PG students whose admissions got cancelled are protesting and demanding seats in another medical college. The registrar of the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Science (KNRUHS) has assured that no student will lose his/her seat.

The vacation bench of Telangana High Court comprising Justice Anninreddy Abhishek Reddy and Justice Mummaneni Sudhir Kumar has directed NMC not to proceed with its decision to cancel 150 new MBBS admissions in TRR Institute of Medical Sciences in Sangareddy district till the decision of the statutory appeal filed by the college before NMC.

The college has challenged the NMC's observation in the surprise inspection based on which the admissions have been cancelled.
