Ukraine returned medical students in Varanasi urge CM Yogi to intervene
Ukraine returned medical students in Varanasi have requested the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to help them in facilitating the continuation of their studies in the state's medical colleges.
The story looks similar throughout the country, the Ukraine returned medical students to different states of the country are worried about their studies which are disrupted due to the ongoing Russia and Ukraine war, there is no chance to go back immediately in present circumstances. In Varanasi, a dozen of such students have requested Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to help them in completing their education at medical institutes in Uttar Pradesh.
These students have submitted a memorandum to the additional city magistrate (Varanasi) Gulab Chandra in this connection which is addressed to Chief Minister Yogi, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Earlier this month, PM Modi had also interacted with a group of Ukraine returned medical students in Varanasi and had accused the previous governments of not doing enough for medical education in India.
Students want Centre to help them in continuing studies in India
Ukraine returned medical students have also approached Supreme Court and sought direction to the Central government for formulation of policy to enable these students to continue their medical education in India. The students also mentioned in the writ petition that their parents are still paying interest on the loan they had taken to send their children abroad.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has also written to PM Modi and requested him to help these students in completing their education as a special case and allow them to join medical colleges in the country in equivalent semesters in relaxation of the regulations in vogue.
