Budget 2024-25 includes allocation of INR 6,800 crore as establishment expenditure of New AIIMS across India.  

Union Budget 2024 for Medical

Union Budget 2024 was presented today i.e. July 23, 2024, by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the parliament with a remarkable allocation to the healthcare sector. As per the budget 2024 for medical college, INR 4,523 crore budget allocation is determined to AIIMS Delhi, followed by INR 2,200 crore and INR 1,440 crore for PGIMER Chandigarh and JIPMER Puducherry, respectively. 

Besides, the Union Health Ministry has been allocated INR 90,958.63 crore for 2024-25. With an increase of 12.96% in comparison to the previous year's budget, this considerable increment will positively impact the health sector of India.  

New Medical Colleges in Bihar

Sitharaman, during the presentation of the Union Budget 2024-25, announced that new medical colleges will be inaugurated soon in the State of Bihar. She said, "New airports, medical colleges and sports infrastructure in Bihar will be constructed."

Further, Finance Minster has also announced custom duty exemption on three medicines for treating cancer namely Trastuzumab Deruxtecan, Osimertinib and Durvalumab. Earlier, a 10% BCD rate was imposed on these medicines.
