Medical Education Department Uttar Pradesh is all set to add 1300 MBBS seats in the state to strengthen the medical education and also 13 new medical colleges will be started from the new session 2023-24. Dept of Medical Education, Uttar Pradesh, has announced the addition of 1,300 new MBBS seats in medical colleges run by the state government. Thirteen new medical colleges will be started from 2023-24 for which principals have been appointed.

After the increase in seats, the number of MBBS seats will increase from 3828 to 5128. The state can now access better education and facilities in the health sector and health systems will also be improved in the state, ensuring a new flight to medical education and career, said the official statement.

Medical Education Uttar Pradesh tweet reads, "1300 MBBS seats will be increased in Government Medical Colleges of @MeUPGovt, bringing a vital change in the medical education sector of the state. 13 new medical colleges will be started from the new session 2023-24. Health systems will also be improved in the state, ensuring a new flight to medical education and career. #UttarPradesh

According to media reports, in phase three, district hospitals of 13 districts have been upgraded to medical colleges. This includes Bijnor, Kushinagar, Sultanpur, Gonda, Lalitpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Chandauli, Bulandshahr, Sonbhadra, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat and Kaushambi, as reported by TV9 Hindi.com.
