Vyapam-like scam found in MP Medical Science University

A Vyapam-like scam has surfaced in MP Medical Science University, Jabalpur where reportedly the then vice-chancellor of the university, Dr TN Dubey and the registrar in charge, Dr JK Gupta are among those involved in the scam.

As per reports, both of them gave 12 roll numbers to the university's exam controller Dr Vrinda Saxena and said that these students must be passed.

There are allegations against VC Dubey for giving roll numbers in his own handwriting. Apart from these, 13 students of MBBS, BDS and MDS were passed by giving the benefit of special re-valuation, while there is no rule of re-valuation in the university ordinance, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar.

Re-valuated copies had overwritings

These were the students who failed twice even in re-valuation. When the copies of these re-evaluations were checked, overwriting was found in them. Apart from this, the names of 278 students did not match. These were the students whose enrollment was done by another name and the exam was given by a different student. That is, enrollment in a different name and a different student giving the exam.

As per reports, Dr Vrinda Saxena, the then examination controller of the university, is accused of giving practical numbers in colleges by using g-mail instead of official e-mail while on leave. Not only this, the students were fiercely given grace in theory and practical, while there is no rule of grace in any subject. All these revelations were made in the report of the five-member committee, which was constituted by the government on the orders of the High Court, Jabalpur.

Registrar Dr JK Gupta demanded a bribe from the agency conducting the examination. The present registrar Dr Prabhat Budhaulia did not cooperate in providing the documents. The use of Gmail instead of official e-mail has reduced the credibility of the exam.
