A competition on science photography and science documentary will be held for college and university students and the general public, while science monologue, science poster and science essay contest will be open to school and higher secondary school students.

Ministry of Culture to hold science expo in collaboration with Goa University

Goa Univeristy will be organising a science expo ‘Vigyan Sarvatra Pujyate’ at the university from February 22 to 28 in collaboration with Union Ministry of culture. The expo will be held for school, college and university students.

The event will be focussed around the themes of milestones of modern Indian science & technology, science literature, history of Indian science, science & technology in India over the next 25 years, and swadeshi (made in India) and paramparik (traditional) inventions and innovations. Students will be able to register and enter the event for free, while the expo events will also be livestreamed.

A competition on science photography and science documentary will be held for college and university students and the general public, while science monologue, science poster and science essay contest will be open to school and higher secondary school students.

The documentaries have to be made on the theme of ‘Swadeshi Paramparik Inventions and Innovations’. “Time limit should not exceed 5-7 minutes. Only one entry per participant will be allowed. Best five documentaries will be selected and screened on February 26, which will be judged by experts and prizes will be awarded during the valedictory function,” GU has said.
With the COVID-19 situation improving in the stat, colleges in the state are expected to resume offline classes by mid-March as per sources. From Wednesday, some colleges have also began conducting exams in the offline mode for the final year students.The exams were suppose to be conducted in January but postponed due to pandemic.
