National Law University (NLU), Delhi has inked an MoU with the Vishwa Nath and Santosh Bakshi Educational Trust to establish the SK Malik Chair.

National Law University (NLU), Delhi has signed an MoU with the Vishwa Nath and Santosh Bakshi Educational Trust to establish the SK Malik Chair on Access to Justice in the university. 

The official statement says, "We are pleased to announce the establishment of the SK Malik Chair on Access to Justice in the memory of Late Shri Sudershan Kumar Malik, a criminal law practitioner who worked extensively to provide free legal aid to the poor and weaker sections of society."

"Through the work done under the aegis of the Chair, at NLU Delhi will add to its rich history of engaging with access to justice initiatives through pro bono interventions, teaching and research," stated the university.

NLU Delhi tweet reads, "Through this Chair, NLUD will extend the legacy of Shri S. K. Malik and work to promote the access to justice for all."

"The Trust is committed to promoting the vision of Mrs. and Mr. Bakshi, both of whom highly valued education and its power to improve society," said another tweet.

NLU Delhi invites application for research fellow

Centre for Law, Justice and Development (CLJD) NLU Delhi has invited applications for research fellow. Eligibility criteria are the candidates must have a five-year/ three-year LL.B degree or a post-graduate degree in law, possess at least One-year work experience in socio-legal research, demonstrate good research and writing skills and good oral and written communication skills and he/she should have good knowledge of MS office and online platforms.

All applications must be sent to cljd@nludelhi.ac.in latest by 2nd April 2022 (Wednesday5.00pm). The subject of the mail must be titled ‘Research Fellow Application - CLJD”. Mails without this title will not be considered, says the notification. Other application requirements include Curriculum Vitae not exceeding two side A-4 sheet, Statement of Purpose (max 500 words), and Writing sample.
