NEET 2022 Postpone: NTA Expected to Respond to RTI Request Soon

NEET 2022 postpone demand has been buzzing across the aspiring candidates owing to multiple reasons, the recent addition being the reopening of the NEET 2021 counselling process for the Special Stray Vacancy round. Requesting for an update on the demand to postpone NEET UG 2022, an RTI was filed to the National Testing Agency (NTA) on April 18. A Central Public Information Officer (CPIO), Binod Kumar Sahu has been assigned for this RTI. Hence, it can be expected that a response will be issued soon.

Vivek Pandey, the activist who filed the RTI has taken to Twitter to share the current status and also expressed his concern regarding the delay of over 48 hours in responding to the RTI, seeking answers to a crucial query by the stakeholders.

Talking about the RTI, Pandey adds, β€œIf they don't give reply as per RTI act 2005 or given information was incorrect even after 1st appeal then in front of CIC, we can file 2nd appeal and ask for fine or punishment according to RTI act during hearing.”

While some aspirants have lauded the action to file RTI, some have suggested the idea to file a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) which may lead to NEET 2022 postponement or rescheduling.

Meanwhile, students are continuing with their demand for NEET 2022 postpone on the social media platforms citing reasons such as less time to prepare and complete the syllabus, clash of dates with other entrance exams, the continuation of NEET 2021 counselling among others.

NEET 2022 is scheduled to be conducted on July 17. The exam date was announced along with the official notification and application form on April 6. The last date of application is May 6. In the past two years, NEET was conducted in September. This year, the exam duration has been increased by 20 minutes.
