NEET 2022 results: Student commits suicide after failing to clear exam
NTA declared the NEET 2022 results on September 7 at night, after the results announced a girl in Tamil Nadu who failed to clear the exam reportedly committed suicide.
In a tragic incident, a Tamil Nadu NEET 2022 female candidate was found hanging at her residence after the NEET 2022 results were declared at night on September 7.
After the incident, Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat Jodo Yatra met the family members of the candidate who killed herself after failing to clear the NEET entrance exam. Her parents have been fighting for abolishing NEET exams.
The state has been trying to get the President’s assent for the state’s Bill on the exemption from NEET. Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma. Subramanian in his visit to Delhi a few days ago has once again urged the Union government to get the President’s assent for the state’s bill. As per the state government, the entrance exam favours students from affluent backgrounds and poor candidates have little scope to get admission through NEET. Moreover, in a few years, many news of such suicide cases comes to light from the state where students committed suicide when they were unable to clear the NEET exam.

The NEET 2022 exam was conducted on July 17 and the NEET 2022 results were announced yesterday night. This year's topper Tanishka with AIR 1 is from Rajasthan with a percentile 99.9997733.
NEET 2022 has been surrounded by controversies like the indecent frisking incident in Kerala and recent allegations of irregularities in the OMR sheet of a candidate. A re-examination was also conducted for affected candidates in Kollam, Sriganganagar, Nagaur, Kushinagar, Bhind, Hoshangad, Begusarai, and Thane. The examination was conducted in English and Hindi only.
The NEET 2022 counselling is expected to start soon. NTA's notification reads, "The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India will conduct the Counselling for 15% All India Quota Seats, Deemed Universities, Central Universities, Seats of ESIC and AFMC, BHU & AMU. Candidates may visit website www.mcc.nic.in for further information. Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats as per the directions of DGHS and Counselling will be stopped once the seats are exhausted. The details and schedule of counselling would be available on the websites of Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare and Medical Education Directorates of States."
