NEET PG 2021 Counselling: SC dismisses plea to participate in Mop-up Round with free exit option
The top court of the country has dismissed a writ petition filed by NEET PG 2021 Counselling candidates for seeking permission to participate in the Mop-up round with a free exit option.
The Supreme Court bench of Justices DY Chandrachud, Surya Kant, and Sanjiv Khanna has dismissed a writ petition filed by NEET PG 2021 Counselling candidates for seeking permission to participate in a Mop-up round with a free exit option.
The doctors' counsel contended that there were severe instances of seat blocking during earlier rounds of counselling.
However, the court replied, "This follows the same course of action as the earlier matter. We'll look at it next year. There will be serious hardship now. No Ms Mathur. Once we'll start there is no end," as reported by Live Law.
Details of plea for participation in NEET PG 2021 Mop-up Round with free exit option
The plea stated that the NEET PG 2021 Counselling candidates who did not join the allotted seats in Round 2 were given chance to participate in the Mop-up round subject to forfeiture of the security deposit, resulting in seat blocking in Round 2 by many candidates, not joining the same and further participating in Mop-up round.
The petition claimed that many NEET PG 2021 Counselling candidates have blocked the seats in Round 2 and did not join.
Eligibility to participate in NEET PG 2021 Counselling Mop-up Round
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice related to eligibility to participate in NEET PG 2021 Counselling Mop-up Round.
The notification reads, "MCC of DGHS requested the DMEs of states to provide the list of Round-2 joined candidates of their respective states which is enclosed as under. Hence, the candidates of State Quota whose Roll No. is appearing in the list and the AIQ joined candidates are not eligible to participate in the ongoing Fresh Mop-Up Round."
