MCC has notified that the committee is receiving requests from NEET UG 2021 Counselling candidates that they are unable to claim reserved category seats due to some reason.
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released a notice for NEET UG 2021 Counselling candidates who are seeking conversion from SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD category to UR category.
MCC has notified that MCC of DGHS, MoHFW is receiving requests from NEET UG 2021 Counselling candidates who have inadvertently filled SC/ST/EWS/PwD/OBC category in the registration form of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and at a later stage, the candidates realised that they are unable to claim reserved category seat due to some reason.

Those who don't want this category change option may not avail of the said facility.
The notice further reads, "Also, once a candidate changes their category from SC/ST/EWS/PwD/OBC to UR category they will be deemed to be UR for further rounds of counselling and they will not be able to change their category back to SC/ST/EWS/PwD/OBC. It is again informed that the candidates can avail of the facility of 'Change of Category' only once. Also, as per the counselling policy of MCC of DGHS, MoHFW, the benefit of OBC reservation is given to candidates of OBC-NCL category who belong to Central List of OBC."
