NIFT 2022 seat allotment released for Round I; check allotment status

The allotment is made based on the NIFT 2022 merit rank of the candidate and choices opted at the time of counseling registration.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has declared the seat allotment result for the non-PwD category (Round I) on June 14; the allotment was originally scheduled for June 13. Candidates who have been allotted seats can check their seat allotment status by logging into the seat allotment portal.

Confusion in NIFT 2022 seat allotment

Earlier in the day, the National Institute of Fashion Technology released seat allotment for Round 2, while bypassing seat allotment for Round I. Round II seat allotment is scheduled to be announced on June 20. The allotment is now canceled.

Candidates who logged into the seat allotment for Round I, however, weren’t able to see the seat allotment status. Also, the payment link was missing.

NIFT 2022 Seat Allotment - Fee payment and confirmation of seats

Candidates who have been allotted seats will receive email notifications on their registered email ids with fee payment information.

The candidate will have to make the payment online and confirm their seats.

For the current session, the seat allotment for non-PwD category has five seat allotment rounds. The PwD category has only one allotment round.

NIFT 2022 Seat Matrix 

For the current academic session, there are a total of 5,023 seats available at the 17 participating NIFTs.

Of these, there are 4,188 All-India seats, 377 state-domicile seats, and 458 NRI seats.

• B.Des - 2714 seats
• B.F.Tech - 508 seats
• Masters course (M.Des, M.F.Tech, MFM) - 966 seats.
