NIFT Counseling 2022 - Registration for Spot Round commences today

The Spot Round is being conducted to fill vacant seats and is open to candidates who have not been allotted a seat in 1st to 6th rounds of seat allotments.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) will start registrations for the final round of NIFT 2022 counseling, namely the Spot Round from July 21-24, 2022. The Spot Round is conducted to fill vacant seats left after the completion of six rounds of counseling. The vacant seat matrix will be updated by the institute before the commencement of the Spot Round.

Candidates who have not been allotted a seat up till now are eligible for participation in the Spot Round. At the time of registration, the candidate will have to fill in their choice of academic programs and academic institutions in the order of priority, and upload necessary documents.

The allotment of seats for NIFT 2022 will be based on:

  • The choices filled by the candidate at the time of counseling registration and their order of priority
  • The seat intake for the program applied for admission
  • The NIFT 2022 merit rank of the candidate.

How to register for NIFT 2022 Counseling Spot Round

To get registered for the Spot Round, the candidate will have to follow the steps listed below:

  1. Click on the registration link
  2. Log in using candidate credentials
  3. Fill in your choices of academic programs and institutes in the order of priority

It is recommended for candidates to fill in as many choices as possible to optimize one’s chances of getting a seat.

Note that the NIFT 2022 counseling process is being conducted in online mode and is open to candidates who have qualified in the NIFT 2022 entrance exam.

The following categories are not eligible for the Spot Round

  • Candidates who have been allotted a seat in any previous rounds paid the fee and frozen the seat
  • Candidates who have failed the document verification process.
  • Candidates opting for the following categories: 
    • NLEA
    • Artisan
    • NRI candidates
    • PwD category
