The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Arunachal Pradesh will conduct its eighth convocation tomorrow (December 9) in a blended mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be the chief guest on the occasion. He will deliver the convocation address in blended mode, said NIT Arunachal Pradesh Registrar Uday Kumar Khanikar.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju will be the guest of honour at the convocation ceremony. Pinakeswar Mahanta, chairperson, Board of Governors, NIT Arunachal Pradesh will preside over the function.
The Senate Chairman will award degrees and certificates to the graduating students who completed their courses during 2019-2020 in blended mode. While the Chairperson, Board of Directors, will present chairman gold medals, institute gold medals will be presented by the guests of honour.
The seventh convocation of NIT Arunachal Pradesh was held on December 28, 2020. Sushil Chandra Mishra, Chairman and Managing Director, Oil India Limited, was the chief guest.
NIT Arunachal Pradesh is an institute of national importance. It holds the 19th rank among the 31 NITs in India. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level programmes such as BTech, MTech, MBA, MPhil, and PhD in various disciplines. Admissions to the institute are based on various kind of national-level entrance tests such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, etc. Final seat allocation is done through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA) counselling.
