NIT Patna, Patliputra University to promote research and academics
Under this collaboration, the university will soon set up a research council to work out details to link the research programme of the university with NIT-Patna
The National Institute of Technology (NIT)-Patna and Patliputra University (PPU) has joined hands to work together on academic and research growth. The two educational institutions have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote academic and research activities. The MoU will remain in effect for five years. PPU vice-chancellor (VC) R K Singh, registrar Jitendra Kumar and NIT-Patna director Dr P K Jain and registrar Dr N Narayan signed the MoU on Thursday, i.e. April 27, 2022.
Under this collaboration, the university will soon set up a research council to work out details to link the research programme of the university with NIT-Patna, according to PPU registrar Jitendra Kumar. To facilitate academics and research, NIT-Patna has also offered its lab to the PPU for research work under the agreement. “Both teachers and research scholars will benefit from this facility,” Kumar said.
NIT Patna offers lab for research engaged in physics, chemistry and computer science
Under this agreement, the premier technology institute, NIT-Patna lab will be available for researchers engaged in physics, chemistry and computer science. The PPU is already carrying on mandatory research classes in different subjects in postgraduate departments of science, arts and commerce streams.
Kumar told TOI that PPU has started PG teaching in 15 subjects in arts, science and commerce streams. However, the university has no advanced lab for science research scholars. “The NIT lab will prove a boon for the science researchers, particularly in physics, chemistry and computer science,” he said.
The varsity is also looking forward to utilising the experiences of NIT teachers in promoting the research activities of the PPU teachers and scholars.
