NLU Jodhpur bags first position in Amity Alternative Dispute Resolution Tournament

In a virtual Amity Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Tournament organised by Amity Law School in Noida, National Law University (NLU), Jodhpur has bagged the first position whereas the National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata was declared as the runner up of the tournament.

ADR was a two-day tournament comprising three sub-events – Mediation Arbitration Competition, Negotiation Competition and Client Counselling Competition.

The participants were judged based on various parameters including problem analysis, presentation, knowledge and applicability of law, post-interview reflection and the ability to answer questions.

Delhi High Court’s Justice Rekha Palli, the chief guest for the tournament, said, “We have a lot of lawyers from Amity in various courts of India. It is really heartening to see that Amity Law School has a separate society for Alternative Dispute Resolution under the visionary leadership of honourable founder president Ashok K Chauhan and other law schools should also imbibe that. ADR is a very effective, efficient and satisfying way of resolving disputes as the courts interfere less. Being cost-effective, this method should be encouraged for the poor and needy too, as they need it the most,” as reported by the Telegraph India.
