Osmania University in an official notification announced that the revised schedule for the exams will be announced later, on the basis of COVID and omicron situation in the state.

Osmania University Exams 2022: In wake of rise in COVID cases and its variant Omicron, Osmania University has decided to postpone all its exams until January 16, 2022. Osmania University Exams 2022 were scheduled to be held between January 8 to January 16, 2022. The University has also closed its hostels until January 16, 2022, to avoid the further spread of the COVID virus. Osmania University Exams 2022 were being held for different courses and subjects.

Osmania University in an official notification announced that the revised schedule for these exams will be announced later on the basis of the COVID and omicron situation in the state. The move comes after the Telangana Government had announced holidays for all educational institutions from January 8 to 16, 2022. Following this announcement, OU also closed its hostels to avoid any possible transmission of COVID-19.  

Osmania University closed its hostels in compliance with government orders. As per the reports in local media, Osmania University does not have enough infrastructure to tackle the COVID situation. It even took into account that if students lived in hostels, they are bound to stay close and also share things. All such steps can increase the risk of infection.  

Earlier, the schools, colleges in the state were also closed after Chief Minister Rao conducted a COVID review meeting on January 3, 2022. Due to a spike in cases, it was decided to coincide these holidays with Sankranthi and students were asked to stay indoors for everyone's safety.  In last 24 hours, Telangana recorded 1,673 new COVID cases.
