Prof GS Bajpai, Vice Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) Punjab has been nominated as a member of the Punjab State Higher Education Council for a period of 5 years. The Council plans and coordinates the development of Higher Education in the state.
The Punjab State Higher Education Council is committed to the promotion of quality initiatives. It is responsible for raising educational standards in the state to meet the global requirements, as reported by Live Law.
About Prof GS Bajpai
He is equipped with more than thirty years of professional experience as an author, researcher, teacher and administrator. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Govt. of India has nominated him as a Member of the Committee for conferring statutory status to the 'Right to Repair' under the statutory framework of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. He is the Convenor, of the Committee for Reforms in Criminal Laws set up by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, which is tasked with spearheading historic reforms in Criminal Laws in India. He is the Member of the Advisory Board for Development of Legal Education & Legal Profession of the Bar Council of India; a Member of the Standing Committee of the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India; Member, of the General Council, Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam; Member, Punjab State Legal Services Authority and Member, State Legal Services Authority, U.T., Chandigarh.
RGNUL organises 16th National Youth Parliament Competition
The university recently organised the 16th National Youth Parliament Competition under the aegis of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, GOI.
The students of BALLB (Hons) participated in the Youth Parliament Competition to know about the practices and procedures of the Parliament. The participants carried out the functioning of a normal working day in the Lower House of Parliament. The proceedings commenced with administering oath or affirmation to the newly elected members of the Youth Parliament. The House paid obituary reference to deceased Queen Elizabeth II.
