The question paper on General Knowledge will broadly cover the subjects : Physics, Chemistry, General Science, Social Studies, Geography and Current Events.

The question paper in English will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of English and workman like use of words. The syllabus covers various aspects like : Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English.

Vectors in two and three dimensions, magnitude and direction of a vector. Unit and null vectors, addition of vectors, scalar multiplication of a vector, scalar product or dot product of two vectors. Vector product or cross product of two vectors. Applications—work done by a force and moment of a force and in geometrical problems.

The topics are Concept of a real valued function–domain, range and graph of a function. Composite functions, one to one, onto and inverse functions. Notion of limit, Standard limits—examples. Continuity of functions—examples, algebraic operations on continuous functions. Derivative of function at a point, geometrical and physical interpretation of a derivative—applications. Derivatives of sum, product and quotient of functions, derivative of a function with respect to another function, derivative of a composite function. Second order derivatives. Increasing and decreasing functions. Application of derivatives in problems of maxima and minima.

The final allocation/selection for admission to the Army, Navy, Air Force of the National Defence Academy and 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy will be made upto the number of vacancies available subject to eligibility, medical fitness and merit-cum-preference of the candidates. The candidates who are eligible to be admitted to multiple Services/Courses will be considered for allocation/selection with reference to their order or preferences and in the event of their final allocation/ selection to one Service/Course, they will not be considered for admission to other remaining Services/Courses.

The topics for Trigonometry are Angles and their measures in degrees and in radians.Trigonometrical ratios. Trigonometric identities Sum and difference formulae. Multiple and Sub-multiple angles. Inverse trigonometric functions. Applications-Height and distance, properties of triangles.

Types of matrices, operations on matrices. Determinant of a matrix, basic properties of determinants. Adjoint and inverse of a square matrix, Applications-Solution of a system of linear equations in two or three unknowns by Cramer’s rule and by Matrix Method.

The important topics for Algebra are Concept of set, operations on sets, Venn diagrams, De Morgan laws, Cartesian product, relation, equivalence relation, Representation of real numbers on a line. Complex numbers—basic properties, modulus, argument, cube roots of unity, Binary system of numbers, Conversion of a number in decimal system to binary system and vice-versa. Arithmetic, Geometric and Harmonic progressions. Quadratic equations with real coefficients. Solution of linear inequations of two variables by graphs, Permutation and Combination, Binomial theorem and its applications, Logarithms and their applications.

The use of any mobile phone (even in switched off mode), pager or any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches etc. or camera or blue tooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device during the examination is strictly prohibited.

Candidates are advised to enter the login details correctly or else the login page will show invalid login. To avoid this, candidates should enter the login details carefully.

NDA 2 question paper will be released a few days after the exam is conducted. Candidates can raise objections against the question papers through QPRep portal. NDA cut off for final selection is the marks secured by the last finally recommended candidates. The cut off for this stage is decided out of 1800 marks (900 marks of written exam + 900 marks of Interview.

NDA cutoff for the written exam is decided out of 900 marks. UPSC also decides on sectional for the written exam. The sectional cut off is calculated on the basis of the total marks of each section. The sectional cut off is 25 per cent in each subject.

NDA cut off is calculated based on the following factors:

• Number of test-takers
• Total vacancies
• Exam difficulty

NDA exam is conducted offline across various cities spread throughout the country. The exam is conducted in two shifts-morning and afternoon. The Maths paper is held in the morning shift- 10:00 AM-12:30 PM and GAT is held in the afternoon shift from 10:00 AM-12:30 PM. Candidates are required to appear in both the shifts. The total marks allotted to the exam are 900. Candidates need to secure 25 per cent in each paper.

Candidates cannot change the NDA exam centre after the final submission of the application. The facility for making corrections in the application form except for the choice of centres is allowed seven days after the application process closes. Candidates are allotted NDA exam centre at the selected test city. The examination authority reserves the right to allot exam centres to candidates. The exam centres are usually allotted to candidates in the test city selected by them. However, in case of unavailability of exam centre in the test city selected by candidates, they are allotted to the different exam centre.

Candidates can select one city for NDA exam while filling the application form. The preferences of exam cities are required to be entered in Part 2 of NDA application form. The exam centres are allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis. Once the capacity of a particular centre is filled, the same is frozen. Therefore, to get the preferred exam centre, candidates need to apply early. The examination authority reserves the right to allot exam centres to candidates.

Along with the xeror copy of the photo-identity proof, candidates are also required to carry the original photo-identity proof. The photo-identity proof needs to be carried along with the printed copy of the admit card.

Qualified candidates for the written exam are required to appear in the SSB Interview. The exam is a two-stage process based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test. All selected candidates are required to appear first in Stage 1. Only those candidates who qualify the Stage 1 are selected for Stage 2. Candidates who qualify for Stage 2 are required to submit the original certificates along with one photocopy of each original Class 10 pass certificate and Original 10+2 pass certificate.

NDA 2 exam will be conducted in the following cities.

A total of 120 questions are asked in the Maths paper of NDA. Questions are usually requested from Algebra Matrices and Determinants Trigonometry Analytical Geometry Of Two and Three Dimensions, Differential Calculus, Integral Calculus, Differential Equations Vector Algebra Statistics, and Probability. In the GAT part of the NDA exam, a total of 150 questions are asked. This section is divided into parts. Part A comprises questions from English and Part B includes questions from General Knowledge. In English questions are generally asked from Spotting Errors, Antonyms, Synonyms, Idioms, and Phrases and Fill in the Blanks. In General Knowledge, questions are asked from Physics Chemistry Biology Indian Polity, History, Geography, Economy, Defence Specific, Current Affairs & Static GK, etc.

The training process of Air Force Cadet is given below:

• Air Force Cadets receive flying training for a period of 1½ years. However, at the end of one year of successful training, they are given provisional commission in the rank of Flying Officer. After the Air Force Cadets successfully complete further training of six months they are absorbed as permanent commissioned officers on probation for a period of one year

• Air Force Ground Duties Branch Cadets receive streamwise specialist training for one year. After the successful completion of training, they are given a provisional commission in the rank of Flying Officer. They are further absorbed as permanent commissioned officers on probation of one year

• On passing out from the NDA, Naval cadets are selected for the Executive Branch of the Navy, and are also given further training at Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala for one year and, on successful completion of the training, they are promoted to the rank of Sub Lieutenants

• Candidates who are selected for the Naval Academy under (Class 12 Cadet Entry Scheme) are inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (for Engineering Branch including Naval Architect specialization) or Electronics & Communication Engineering (for Electrical Branch) as per Naval requirements. After the candidates complete the course they are awarded B Tech Degree by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU)

NDA 2 notification 2023 was released on May 17, 2023. Along with the notification, the application form was released. NDA 2 notification 2023 was released for admission of candidates for Army, Navy and Air Force wings of NDA and Indian Naval Academy course commencing from July 2024.

NDA is the joint training institute for all three services-Army, Navy and Air Force. After joining the NDA cadet undergo training for three years. After graduating from NDA candidates are sent to their respective training academies for one year of training before commissioning. GAT: The GAT syllabus of NDA is divided into two parts. Part A comprises questions from English, while Part B carries questions from General Knowledge. Questions in the English part are asked about Grammar and Usage, Vocabulary, Comprehension, and Cohesion. Questions in General Knowledge are asked from Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, General Science, Geography, and Current Events.

The structure of NDA exam pattern is given below:

The exam paper of NDA written exam is divided into two parts, GAT and Mathematics. All the questions in the exam will be objective type. There will be a total of 150 questions in GAT while the Mathematics part will carry a total of 120 questions. Each section of the exam will be held for 2 ½ hours. The GAT section will be for 600 marks while the Mathematics section will carry 300 marks. The GAT section is divided into two parts. Part A comprises English while Part B consists of General Knowledge. 

The selection process for NDA comprises written exam and SSB interview. The written exam carries 900 marks and the SSB interview carries 900 marks.

Candidates should note that the entry into the exam hall will be closed 10 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the exam i.e9.50 am for the forenoon session and 1.50 pm for the afternoon session.

Candidates are allowed to bring a black ballpoint pen to fill the attendance list and OMR sheet to the exam centre. Answers other than those marked by the black ballpoint pen will not be evaluated. 

Candidates are not allowed to use mobile phones, pager or any other electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media such aspen drive, smartwatches, camera, bluetooth devices. Candidates found carrying these items will not be allowed to appear in the exam and disciplinary action will be taken against them that including a ban from future examinations

If any candidate does not receive the NDA admit card one week before the exam or there is an error in the same, they should contact the examination authority immediately.
