The selection process of RBI Grade B comprises-prelims, Mains and interview. The prelims exam is qualifying in nature. The final selection is done based on the marks secured in the Mains exam and interview. Selected candidates are appointed to the post of Grade B Officers in various branches of RBI.

The number of increments given to RBI Grade B Officers is four. Initial basic pay is INR 55,200 with a yearly increment of INR 2850 for nine years. The basic pay is INR 80850 with the yearly increment of INR 2850 for the next two years. The basic pay is INR 99750 with yearly increment of INR 3300 for the next four years.

Candidates selected for Grade B General, DEPR, DSIM streams will join the Combined Seniority Group. The seniority among these officers will be fixed according to the ranking worked out by using the standard percentile score of aggregate marks of selected candidates.

After training, the departments that are allotted to candidates are financial markets, banking supervision, banking regulation, currency-issuing, public debt office, foreign exchange, HRD, etc. RBI Grade B job profile vary in different departments. RBI Grade B exam day guidelines related to COVID-19 are given below:

• Candidates are required to report at the exam centre as per the time slot mentioned on the admit card
• Candidates must report atleast 15 minutes before the reporting time mentioned in the admit card
• The roll number and lab number will not be displayed outside the exam venue, the same will be informed to candidates individually at the entry gate
• Wearing a mask is compulsory
• Candidates must carry a personal transparent water bottle
• Candidates can carry hand sanitiser of 50 ml
• Candidates should maintain safe social distance with one another
• Candidates need to install Aarogya Setu app on their mobile phones. Those who does not have a smart phone must bring a signed declaration as per the format given on the admit card.

RBI Grade B exam day guidelines are given below:

• The roll number, password, date, time and details of the exam centres are given in RBI Grade B admit card
• To report on time on the exam day, candidates are advised to visit the venue one day before the exam
• Candidates should bring the admit card to the RBI Grade B exam centre along with their recent passport-size photograph duly pasted on it
• Candidates need to bring one valid photo-identity proof in original and a photocopy. The photo-identity proofs that candidates can carry are PAN Card/Passport/Permanent Driving Licence/Voter’s Card/Bank Passbook/Identity Card issued by a recognised college/university/Aadhaar Card/E-Aadhaar Card/Employee ID/Bar Council Identity Card. • Use of calculators, books, notebooks, written notes, pagers or any other electronic devices are not allowed during the exam

The salary structure of RBI Grade B is given below:

RBI Grade B salary package is around INR 14-16 lakh in metro cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, etc. Candidates are paid INR 55,200 per month as RBI Grade B salary. The pay scale is INR 55,200-2850(9)-80,850-EB-2850 (2)-86,550-3300(4)-99,750 (16 years). Candidates are eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance. Initial monthly gross emoluments are INR 1,08,404 (approx).

There is also capping in the number of attempts. General category candidates who have appeared six times in the Phase I exam are not eligible to apply. There are no restrictions for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS candidates.

RBI Grade B educational qualification is given below:

Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60 per cent marks (50 per cent for SC/ST/PwBD applicants).

Graduate candidates should note that any technical or professional course from recognised university or institute that is taken after Class 12 and is at least three years duration or those possessing professional or technical qualifications which are considered equivalent to professional or technical graduation are eligible to apply for the exam.

Postgraduate level candidates should note that any technical or professional course taken after graduation and is at least two years duration or recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional or technical post-graduation will be eligible for the exam.

RBI has released RBI Grade B Phase 1 admit card on June 29, 2023. The admit card has been released on the official website of RBI. However, the direct link to download the admit card is provided on this page. To download the admit card, candidates need to enter registration number or roll number and date of birth or password.

Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years. For MPhil and PhD, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34, respectively. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided to candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

The process to attempt questions in RBI Grade B exam is explained below:

There are no qualifying marks in the RBI Grade B exam. However, candidates need to secure the cut off marks in each section and in aggregate. The cut off marks are decided based on the number of vacancies, level of competition and number of test takers.

Candidates who have applied to appear for RBI Grade B 2023 Phase 1 exam need to download their admit cards online. The admit card can be downloaded by logging with registration number or roll number and date of birth or password.

The structure of RBI Grade B exam pattern is given below.

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked by candidates. For every wrong answer marked by candidates, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question are deducted as penalty.

The total duration of the test is 120 minutes. However, candidates need to be at the venue for approximately 180 minutes including the time required for attendance marking, submission of Admission Letter with Photocopy of the Photo-ID proof, logging in, etc.

Papers of Phase I (except the test of English Language) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English. Candidates will have the option to choose questions in Hindi or in English. The option of language is to be chosen in the beginning of the test. However as required, candidates will be able to switch/toggle between the two languages, after choosing the option for the language. Answers to the papers of Phase-I are to be marked by mouse clicking the correct option.

The steps to calculate the scores are given below:

• Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the Corrected Score after applying penalty for wrong answers
• The Corrected Scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the Equated Scores
• Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms
• Test-wise scores and scores on total is reported with decimal points up to two digits

Candidates can bring ball-point pen along with them to the exam centre. A sheet of paper will be provided at the exam centre which candidates can use for doing rough works. After the test is over, candidates must drop the rough sheet, admission letter along with photocopy of the photo-identity proof in the designated drop-box.

Candidates are required to carry the printed copy of RBI Grade B admit card. Along with it, they are also required to carry additional photographs. Candidates are required to affix the photographs on the admit card.

The process to retrieve the password while downloading RBI Grade B admit card is given below:
