 RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam will be conducted on July 30, 2023 in two shifts. The Paper-III (General Finance and Management) will be conducted in the morning shift and Paper 1 (Economic and Social Issues) and Paper 2 English (Writing Skills) will be conducted in the afternoon shift. 

RBI Grade B Phase 1 result 2023 has been announced. The cut off for the Phase 1 exam will be released soon. The cut off will be released category-wise and section-wise. Candidates who secured the cut off marks were selected for Phase 2 exam.

RBI Grade B Phase 1 scorecard will be released soon by RBI. To download the scorecard, candidates need to enter the required credentials. The scorecard displays the section-wise and overall scores obtained by candidates. 

The paper on English is framed to assess the writing skills of candidates. Besides, it will test the candidate's understanding of the given topic.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 syllabus for Economic and Social Issues (Paper 1) is given below:

Growth and Development: Measurement of growth: National Income and per capita income-Poverty Alleviation and Employment Generation in India-Sustainable Development and Environmental issues. 

Indian Economy: Economic History of India-Changes in Industrial and Labour Policy, Monetary and Fiscal Policy since reforms of 1991-Priorities and recommendations of Economic Survey and Union Budget-Indian Money and Financial Markets: Linkages with the economy-Role of Indian banks and Reserve Bank in the development process, Public Finance - Political Economy, Industrial Developments in India, Indian Agriculture-Services sector in India.

Globalization: Opening up of the Indian Economy, Balance of Payments, Export-Import Policy, International Economic Institutions, IMF and World Bank, WTO, Regional Economic Cooperation; International Economic Issues. 

Social Structure in India: Multiculturalism, Demographic Trends, Urbanisation and Migration, Gender Issues-Social Justice: Positive Discrimination in favour of the underprivileged, Social Movements, Indian Political System, Human Development, Social Sectors in India, Health and Education.

The exam day guidelines for Phase 2 exam is given below:

• Paper 3 (Finance and Management) will take place in morning shift, followed by Paper 1 (Economics and Social Issues) and Paper II (English) in the afternoon shift without any break between Paper I and Paper II
• For Paper I and Paper III, 30 minutes duration is allotted to attempt objective-type questions. After 30 minutes, descriptive type paper will start for which 90 minutes duration is allotted. Candidates will not be able to shuffle between objective/descriptive papers
• For Paper I and Paper III, descriptive type paper the word limit is 600 words for 15 marks questions and 400 words for 10 marks questions
• Separate admission letters should be downloaded for morning and afternoon shifts
• The date, time of Phase 2 examination/shifts, and venue of examinations are indicated in both RBI Grade B admit cards
• The option of language is to be chosen in the beginning of the test. However, as required, you will be able to switch/toggle between the two languages, after choosing the option for the language
• Answers to the objective type Papers of Phase-II (i.e. Paper-I and Paper-III) are to be marked by mouse clicking the correct option and then 'Save and Next'
• The time for the examination in the morning and afternoon shifts is 120 and 210 minutes respectively, however, candidates have to be in the venue for approximately 160 and 240 minutes respectively, including the time required for attendance marking, submission of admission letter with photocopy of the photo ID proof, logging in, etc.
• For every wrong answer marked by candidates, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty 
• Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying penalty for wrong answers
• Paper-wise scores are reported with decimal points up to two digits
• Paper-I and Paper-III: Descriptive Type Papers: In case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, candidates answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, first 4 shall be evaluated.
• English (Writing Skills) Descriptive Paper: The paper on English will be framed in a manner to assess the writing skills including expression and understanding of the topic. The Paper may include Questions on essay writing, précis writing and comprehension etc. Candidates will have to type answers with the help of the key-board of the computer.

RBI Grade B selection process comprises phase 1 exam, phase 2 exam and interview. Before appearing in the interview, candidates need to appear for the psychometric test. The Phase 1 exam is conducted for 200 marks. The test paper comprises four sections-General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning. Candidates qualifying the Phase 1 exam are called for the Phase 2 exam. The Phase 2 exam three papers-Paper-I: Economic and Social Issues, Paper-II: English (Writing Skills) and Paper-III: Finance and Management. The total marks allotted to the Phase 2 exam are 300. The interview carries a total of 75 marks.

Candidates selected for Grade B General, DEPR, DSIM streams will join the Combined Seniority Group. The seniority among these officers will be fixed according to the ranking worked out by using the standard percentile score of aggregate marks of selected candidates.

After training, the departments that are allotted to candidates are financial markets, banking supervision, banking regulation, currency-issuing, public debt office, foreign exchange, HRD, etc. RBI Grade B job profile vary in different departments. Grade B Officers are involved in planning and policy decisions. 

RBI Grade B salary package is around INR 14-16 lakh in metro cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, etc. Candidates are paid INR 55,200 per month as RBI Grade B salary. The pay scale is INR 55,200-2850(9)-80,850-EB-2850 (2)-86,550-3300(4)-99,750 (16 years). Candidates are eligible for Dearness Allowance, Local Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Family Allowance, and Grade Allowance. Initial monthly gross emoluments are INR 1,08,404 (approx).

RBI Grade B cut off announced in 2019 is given below for different categories.

The total marks allotted to RBI Grade B exam are 300. Each paper carries a total of 100 marks.

There are negative marking for wrong answers in RBI Grade B exam. 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question are deducted as a penalty for wrong answers.

The Phase 2 exam of RBI Grade B comprises three papers.Paper I and III comprise both objective and descriptive type questions, while Paper II is completely a descriptive test. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes (30 minutes for the objective test and 90 minutes for the descriptive test) while Paper-II is held for 90 minutes. All papers of Phase II, except the English Language, are set in English and Hindi. Candidates need to type the descriptive type answers with the help of the keyboard. The total marks of the test are 300, each section is for 100 marks. The objective paper of Paper I and III of Phase II will have a total of 30 questions. Some questions will carry two marks, while some carry one mark. The Descriptive paper of Paper I and III will have six questions, out of which candidates need to attempt four questions. Two questions will be of 15 marks, while two will be of 10 marks. In case, candidates answer more than four questions in a descriptive paper then the first four will be evaluated. Paper-II will carry three questions.

RBI Grade B Phase 1 result 2023 will be announced to select candidates for the Phase 2 exam. The marks obtained in the Phase 1 exam are not counted for the final merit list.

The scores of candidates for RBI Grade B exam are calculated based on the normalisation process since the exam is held in multiple sessions. The normalisation of marks are done to adjust the difficulty level of question papers across various sessions. RBI Grade B scorecard displays the section-wise and overall scores. The scorecard can be downloaded by entering the required credentials. Candidates can download their scorecards online only. The normalisation of marks are done using equi-percentile method. In normalisation process, the marks of the difficult session are adjusted with the easier one. The marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.

The scores of RBI Grade B are calculated in the following ways:

• The number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying the penalty for wrong answers
• The corrected scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the equated scores
• Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms
• Test-wise scores and scores on total are reported with decimal points up to two digits

RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam was conducted on July 9. The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate to difficult. Candidates qualifying the Phase 1 exam are called for the Phase 2 exam.

Following are the two types of RBI Grade B cut off marks:

RBI Grade B Overall Cut off: The overall cut off marks are calculated out of the total marks allotted to the exam. The overall cut off marks for the prelims exam are calculated out of 200 marks. The overall cut off for mains exam are calculated out of 300 marks. The overall cut off marks for the final selection is calculated out of 375 marks (Phase 2 and Interview). 

RBI Grade B Sectional Cut off: The sectional cut off marks are calculated out of the total marks allotted to each section. Candidates are required to secure the sectional cut off marks in the prelims exam.

RBI Grade B cut off is decided based on the following factors:

• Exam difficulty
• Total vacancies
• Number of candidates appearing for the exam
• Normalisation process

The overall difficulty level of the paper held in Shift 1 was moderate to difficult. The Maths section was tough, GA section was moderate, Reasoning and English sections were easy.
