Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced RBI Grade B result 2022 for Phase 1 exam. The result has been announced on the official website in PDF form. The result PDF displays the roll numbers of qualified candidates. RBI Grade B scorecard is released few days after the declaration of the result. To download the scorecard, candidates need to enter the required credentials. The scorecard displays the section-wise and overall marks secured by candidates. Candidates qualifying the Phase 1 exam of RBI Grade B are called for the Phase 2 exam. The Phase 1 exam of RBI Grade B 2023 for the General post was conducted on July 9.

    RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Day Guidelines

    The exam day guidelines for Phase 2 exam is given below:

    • Paper 3 (Finance and Management) will take place in morning shift, followed by Paper 1 (Economics and Social Issues) and Paper II (English) in the afternoon shift without any break between Paper I and Paper II
    • For Paper I and Paper III, 30 minutes duration is allotted to attempt objective-type questions. After 30 minutes, descriptive type paper will start for which 90 minutes duration is allotted. Candidates will not be able to shuffle between objective/descriptive papers
    • For Paper I and Paper III, descriptive type paper the word limit is 600 words for 15 marks questions and 400 words for 10 marks questions
    • Separate admission letters should be downloaded for morning and afternoon shifts
    • The date, time of Phase 2 examination/shifts, and venue of examinations are indicated in both RBI Grade B admit cards
    • The option of language is to be chosen in the beginning of the test. However, as required, you will be able to switch/toggle between the two languages, after choosing the option for the language
    • Answers to the objective type Papers of Phase-II (i.e. Paper-I and Paper-III) are to be marked by mouse clicking the correct option and then 'Save and Next'
    • The time for the examination in the morning and afternoon shifts is 120 and 210 minutes respectively, however, candidates have to be in the venue for approximately 160 and 240 minutes respectively, including the time required for attendance marking, submission of admission letter with photocopy of the photo ID proof, logging in, etc.
    • For every wrong answer marked by candidates, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty 
    • Number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying penalty for wrong answers
    • Paper-wise scores are reported with decimal points up to two digits
    • Paper-I and Paper-III: Descriptive Type Papers: In case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, candidates answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, first 4 shall be evaluated.
    • English (Writing Skills) Descriptive Paper: The paper on English will be framed in a manner to assess the writing skills including expression and understanding of the topic. The Paper may include Questions on essay writing, précis writing and comprehension etc. Candidates will have to type answers with the help of the key-board of the computer.

    RBI Grade B Result 2023 Live Updates: What is the pattern of Phase 2 exam?

    The Phase 2 exam of RBI Grade B comprises three papers.Paper I and III comprise both objective and descriptive type questions, while Paper II is completely a descriptive test. The duration of Paper I and III are 120 minutes (30 minutes for the objective test and 90 minutes for the descriptive test) while Paper-II is held for 90 minutes. All papers of Phase II, except the English Language, are set in English and Hindi. Candidates need to type the descriptive type answers with the help of the keyboard. In normalisation process, the marks of the difficult session are adjusted with the easier one. The marks of candidates are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers.

    RBI Grade B Phase 1 Result 2023 Live: How the scores are calculated?

    The scores of RBI Grade B are calculated in the following ways:

    • The number of questions answered correctly by a candidate in each objective test is considered for arriving at the corrected score after applying the penalty for wrong answers
    • The corrected scores so obtained by a candidate are made equivalent to take care of the minor difference in difficulty level, if any, in each of the objective tests held in different sessions to arrive at the equated scores
    • Scores obtained by candidates on any test are equated to the base form by considering the distribution of scores of all the forms
    • Test-wise scores and scores on total are reported with decimal points up to two digits

    What are the different types of RBI Grade B cut off?

    Following are the two types of RBI Grade B cut off marks:

    RBI Grade B Overall Cut off: The overall cut off marks are calculated out of the total marks allotted to the exam. The overall cut off marks for the prelims exam are calculated out of 200 marks. The overall cut off for mains exam are calculated out of 300 marks. The overall cut off marks for the final selection is calculated out of 375 marks (Phase 2 and Interview). 

    RBI Grade B Sectional Cut off: The sectional cut off marks are calculated out of the total marks allotted to each section. Candidates are required to secure the sectional cut off marks in the prelims exam.
