RRB Group D Scorecard 2022: Calculation of Scores

The scores of RRB Group D CBT exam was calculated based on the following method:

  • The merit list for shortlisting for PET has been determined on the basis of percentile score (RRC Scores)
  • The percentile score of a candidate is dependent on only two values-number of candidates scoring prorated raw marks equal to or less than the candidate and total number of candidates who have appeared in the particular shift for that particular RRC
  • The normalised marks have been used to determine whether the candidate has scored minimum qualifying marks or such as 40 per cent for UR, 40 per cent for EWS, 30 per cent for OBC (NCL), 30 per cent for SC, 30 per cent for ST with 2 per cent relaxation for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved
  • For CCAA candidates normalised marks have been used to give weightage to NCVT marks and therefore in their case merit has been decided by taking normalized marks into consideration
  • Normalised marks are interpolated marks of the candidate which are determined by using standard mathematical interpolation formula that helps to determine the marks a candidate have scored if they had appeared in base shift which is again dependent upon the relative performance of the candidates reflected in the prorated raw marks along with percentile score
  • For each RRC there was unique base shift and normalisation has been done RRC wise
  • For candidates, other than CCAA, merit-based on percentile score is same as merit based on normalised marks. Therefore, normalised marks have not affected the candidate’s merit
  • If a candidate has appeared in base shift that has been used for calculating normalised marks, the candidate’s normalised marks were the same as prorated raw marks and there is no change
  • Normalised marks are the marks a candidate has scored if they appeared in base shift
