RRB Recruitment 2020: Railways to generate 8 lakh jobs in 125 days

Indian Railways is going to release eight lakh man-days of employment opportunity for aspirants. The candidates will be engaged in infrastructural projects worth Rs 1,800 crores in 125 days till October 31, 2020. This is an initiative under Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan implemented in 116 districts in six states.

The Union Railway Minister, Piyush Goyal, also shared the information through a tweet on June 25. The announcement was made while reviewing the progress of Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyaan with Zonal Railways and Railway PSUs through video conference meeting.

Recently, Indian Railways had successfully completed the recruitment process of RRB ALP for a total of 64,371 vacancies. Around 47.45 lakh candidates had registered for the posts of ALP and Technician. A total of 56,378 candidates were selected by the panel.

Indian Railways will speed up the recruitment process of RRB NTPC once the lockdown eases. The exam will be conducted taking all preventative measures to control the spread of COVID-19. Over 1.26 crore applications were received against 35,208 vacancies. The pre-bid conference for Exam Conducting Agency (ECA) will be done on July 3. RRB NTPC exam dates will be announced in July or August. Registered candidates will be issued RRB NTPC admit card for appearing in the exam.

RRB Group D 2020 exam dates will also be announced once the ECA is finalized. A total of 1,03,769 vacancies will be filled through RRB Group D exam.
