UGC NET 2024 Application Extended @ugcnet.nta.ac.in; Check Live Updates

The candidates can fill out the UGC NET application form by following the steps by following the steps given below:

• Visit the website- ugcnet.nta.ac.in

• Click on the ‘Application form’ link mentioned at the bottom of the home page

• Click on the ‘New Registration’

• Enter the required details and complete the registration

• Fill out the complete application form

• Upload scanned pictures of passport size photo (10-200 kb) and signature (4-30 kb). Both images should be in JPEG format

• Pay the UGC NET application fee (Gen - INR 1,150; OBC/EWS - INR 600; SC/ST/PwD/ Transgender - INR 325)

• Save and submit the form

• Download the confirmation page

The UGC NET application form has been extended by the NTA (National Testing Agency). The candidates can apply for the UGC NET exam till May 15, 2024, and the last date to pay the application fees is May 17, 2024.

The UGC has divided the categories for getting PhD admission. The categories are given below:

• Category 1:  Candidates qualified with JRF will be eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship, Appointment as Assistant Professors, and Enrollment as PhD scholar. 
• Category 2: Candidates qualified for NET will be eligible for Assistant Professorship and admission as PhD scholar 
• Category 3: Based on the marks obtained by the candidates, the candidates will be allowed in the universities as a  PhD scholar

Note: The candidates from Category 2 & 3 will have to go through an interview by the Universities to enroll as a PhD scholar. 70 per cent weightage will be given to the NET score and 30 per cent marks will be based on the interview.

From June cycle 2024, the UGC NET exam will be conducted in Offline mode i.e. pen paper mode (OMR). This was done to complete the exam process in minimum time. All the 83 subject exams will be conducted on June 18, 2024.

The UGC NET application form for the registration of NTA NET June cycle 2024 is going to be closed today May 10, 2024 (11:59 PM) at ugcnet.nta.ac.in

The candidates must resize their photograph and signature as per the size prescribed by the NTA for the UGC NET application form. The dimensions for resizing the photo and signature are given below:

• UGC NET photo size and dimensions: The photograph must be in the dimension of 3.5cm x 4.5 cm and between 10kb to 200kb in JPG/JPEG format
• UGC NET signature size: The signature must be in JPG/JPEG 4 kb to 30 kb size

The candidates can check the prerequisites of the UGC NET application form before filling it out at ugcnet.nta.ac.in to keep things handy below;

• Copy of Board/ University Certificate for Name, Mother's Name, Father's Name, etc. 
• Identification Card
• Degree Certificate or last semester result
• Active Email ID and Mobile Number
• Four cities and choice of centres 
• Code of subject 
• Category certificate, PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned photograph and signature 

The UGC & NTA has updated the guidelines for the UGC NET exam from the June cycle 2024. Check the latest updates below:

• The UGC NET 2024 exam will be conducted in pen-paper mode (OMR) for both papers. The CBT mode will be discontinued from the NTA UGC NET June cycle 2024
• The normalisation of the UGC NET marks will be discontinued from the NTA UGC NET June cycle 2024
• The UG candidates with four-year UG courses can apply for the UGC NET JRF exam and the candidates who will secure 75% marks can enroll themselves in PhD
• The UGC NET marks can be used for admission in PhD and no more separate entrance exams will be conducted by the universities for admission in PhD. The UGC NET marks will be categorised into three sections:
  • Category 1:  Candidates qualified with JRF will be eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship, Appointment as Assistant Professors, and Enrollment as PhD scholar.

The last date for making the registration for the UGC NET exam has arrived i.e. May 10, 2024. The candidates are advised to fill out the application form as soon as possible at ugcnet.nta.ac.in as there is no update regarding the extension of the UGC NET application deadline by  the UGC or NTA

The candidates can check the most common problems faced by the aspirants while filling out the UGC NET application form below:

• OTP Generation: The aspirants cannot generate the OTP (One Time Password) for the UGC NET exam.
• Adhaar Card Verification: The Adhaar Card can't be verified
• Submitting the Application Form: The candidates are unable to submit their application after completing the registration process as it gets rolled back to the UGC NET login page again and again
• UGC NET Login: The candidates can't log in to their registered accounts and change their account password

The last date to fill out the UGC NET application form has arrived and the NTA will close the UGC NET application form on May 10, 2024 (Today). The candidates are advised to fill out the application form as soon as possible as there is no update regarding the extension of the UGC NET application deadline by the UGC or NTA.

• The candidates must have qualified for their master's degree with at least 55 per cent marks
• The candidates who are in their final year of Masters can fill out the application form
• The candidates who have pursued their undergraduate degree (four years) degree can fill out the application form
