UGC NET Application window will be closed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 15, 2024 (11:50 PM) for the June cycle 2024. The NTA UGC NET exam is scheduled for June 18, 2024.
UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the application window for the UGC NET exam on May 15, 2024. The candidates willing to appear for the June 2024 cycle are advised to fill out the UGC NET application form as soon as possible as to avoid any last-minute hassle or technical errors. However, the last date to pay the UGC NET application fee is May 16 & 17, 2024. On the other hand, the NTA will activate the NTA NET application correction window from May 18 to 20, 2024. The candidates who will register for the UGC NET June 2024 exam will be allowed to edit their application form (If needed) between these dates.

UGC NET Application Technical Error @ugcnet.nta.ac.in: Solutions
The candidates willing to fill out the UGC NET application form can check the solutions to the technical errors below:
- OTP Generation: The reason for this technical could be the network issue or prepaid balance. Try moving to a better place where the network strength is strong or check whether the registered number has an appropriate valid balance or status of the SIM (active or inactive)
- Adhaar Card Verification: This can be due to the linked number with the Adhaar Card. The candidates may be using a new number that is not linked to their Addhar Card. The candidates are advised to update their Adhaar card
- Application Submission/UGC NET Login: This is because of traffic congestion on the official website-ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The candidates are advised to fill out the application form when the traffic is low (late night or early morning).
Note: These solutions may not solve your problem as the reasons may differ. the candidates are advised to register their complaints through the UGC NET help desk provided by the NTA.

UGC NET Marks for PhD
The UGC has divided the categories for getting PhD admission. The categories are given below:
- Category 1: Candidates qualified with JRF will be eligible for the Junior Research Fellowship, Appointment as Assistant Professors, and Enrollment as PhD scholar.
- Category 2: Candidates qualified for NET will be eligible for Assistant Professorship and admission as PhD scholar
- Category 3: Based on the marks obtained by the candidates, the candidates will be allowed in the universities as a PhD scholar
Note: The candidates from Category 2 & 3 will have to go through an interview by the Universities to enroll as a PhD scholar. 70 per cent weightage will be given to the NET score and 30 per cent marks will be based on the interview.

From June cycle 2024, the UGC NET exam will be conducted in Offline mode i.e. pen paper mode (OMR). This was done to complete the exam process in minimum time. All the 83 subject exams will be conducted on June 18, 2024.

The candidates must resize their photograph and signature as per the size prescribed by the NTA for the UGC NET application form. The dimensions for resizing the photo and signature are given below:
- UGC NET photo size and dimensions: The photograph must be in the dimension of 3.5cm x 4.5 cm and between 10kb to 200kb in JPG/JPEG format

The UGC & NTA has updated the guidelines for the UGC NET exam from the June cycle 2024. Check the latest updates below:
- The UGC NET 2024 exam will be conducted in pen-paper mode (OMR) for both papers. The CBT mode will be discontinued from the NTA UGC NET June cycle 2024
- The normalisation of the UGC NET marks will be discontinued from the NTA UGC NET June cycle 2024
- The UG candidates with four-year UG courses can apply for the UGC NET JRF exam and the candidates who will secure 75% marks can enroll themselves in PhD
- The UGC NET marks can be used for admission in PhD and no more separate entrance exams will be conducted by the universities for admission in PhD. The UGC NET marks will be categorised into three sections:
