UGC NET 2024 Exam Cancelled Live: Exam Date, Reasons for Cancellation & More Updates

A total of  11,21,225 candidates registered for the exam and 9,08,580 candidates appeared for the UGC NET exam 2024.

Education Ministry Joint Secretary Govind Jaiswal said the details of the inputs cannot be shared as the matter has been referred to the CBI and is currently under investigation.

The UGC NET exam was cancelled as the UGC received inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs on the Examination. 

It is reported that the UGC NET admit cards were not retained by the exam centre authorities after the conclusion of the exam. The candidates took their admit cards back which have to be submitted at the UGC NET exam centre along with the OMR sheet. Authorities updated that they didn't receive any guidelines regarding collecting the UGC NET hall ticket. 

The case of the UGC NET exam cancellation has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough probe.

There is no update on the UGC NET paper leak yet. The NTA UGC NET 2024 exam was cancelled due to integrity issues. No updates were provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA) or University Grants Commission (UGC) on the cancellation of the UGC NET exam.

The Govind Jaiswal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education stated “9 lakh students had participated in the UGC-NET exam that the NTA conducted on June 18... The ministry saw that there was a chance that the examination had been compromised. The ministry has decided to cancel the examination. The next date will be declared soon. The matter has been referred to the CBI,”

The UGC NET 2024 exam was conducted on June 18, 2024, at 1,205 exam centres in 317 cities across the country.
