UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting English, Japanese, Dogri, Performing Art - Dance/Drama/Theatre, Spanish, Electronic Science, Russian, Persian, Comparative Study of Religions and Hindu Studies today: August 21, 2024. UGC NET day 1 re-exam shift 1 will start at 9 AM and conclude at 12 PM. Candidates appearing for the UGC NET June exam 2024 must carry their admit card and follow all important exam day instructions.
This time, UGC NET 2024 will be held on August 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, September 2, 3 and 4 in two shifts. As of now, The NTA released the UGC NET 2024 June session admit card for exams to be conducted on August 21, 22 and 23.

What to Carry Inside UGC NET 2024 Exam Centre
Candidates have to carry the below-mentioned things while appearing for UGC NET 2024 exam:
- UGC NET Admit card and self-declaration form
- One ball point pen
- Extra passport-sized photograph
- Any one photo ID card
- Personal hand sanitiser
- Transparent water bottle
UGC NET 2024 Exam Day Instructions
- Candidates must carry a printed copy of their UGC NET admit card and one passport-size photograph (identical to the one uploaded on the Online Application Form)
- Additionally, they must also carry one original, valid, and non-expired photo ID, such as a PAN card, Driving License, Passport, or Aadhaar Card (with photograph)
- Candidates must read the guidelines on the UGC NET hall ticket and adhere to them throughout the exam
- They must arrive at the exam centre at least two hours before the exam starts to complete the frisking
- They must not carry any restricted items that could be used for unfair practices, including stationery, communication devices, accessories, food items, ornaments, or any other materials, whether relevant or not to the UGC NET exam

Q: Β What is the exam shift timing for UGC NET exam?
The UGC NET exam is conducted in two shifts morning and evening. The NTA (National Testing Agency) will conduct the December session exam in more than 200 centres across India in several districts. The exam shift timing of the UGC NET 2024 exam is as follows: a) First Shift - 9.00 am to 12.00 pm b) Second Shift: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm The candidates are advised to report to the exam centre 30 minutes before the GATE closing time to avoid any mishap at the exam centre. At the exa centre the candidates can bring a transparent water bottle, and ballpoint pen along with two photographs and photo identity proof.
Q: Β What are the exam day guideline for UGC NET?
The candidates who are going to appear for the UGC NET 2024 exam must check the exam day guidelines:
- Candidates must reach the test centre as per the reporting time mentioned on the admit card;
- Candidates should read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the exam.
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall without the admit card and photo ID proof.
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre after 9.00 am in the first shift and after 2.30 pm in the second shift.
- Candidates should report at the exam room at the centres by 9.15 am in the first shift and by 2.45 pm in the second shift.
- Candidates must not leave the UGC NET exam hall before the paper ends.
- On completion of the paper, candidates must wait for the instructions from the invigilator and must not right away get up from their seat to leave the exam hall.
- Candidates wearing special attire such as burqa, hijab, turban, etc. must reach the exam centre early for thorough checking.
- Candidates should sit on the seat indicating their roll numbers only. The candidature will stand cancelled if candidates change their room or seat on their own.
- Candidates must ensure that the UGC NET question paper 2023 available on the computer is as per their opted subject. In case otherwise, candidates must bring the same to the notice of the invigilator.
- Calculations and rough work are to be done only in the rough sheet provided at the centres.
- No candidate should involve in any unfair practices during the exam.
Q: Β Is there any dress code for UGC NET exam?
There is no recommended dress code by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Univeristy Grants Commission (UGC) in order to appear for the UGC NET. However, the candidates takig the exam are advised to do the following thing before appearing for the exam:
- Attire: Candidates should not wear shoes or footwear with thick soles. Also, candidates must not wear clothes with large buttons to the test centre.
- Personal belongings: Candidates should not carry any personal belongings such as mobile phones, purses or electronic devices such as calculators inside the test centre. Exam authority will not be responsible for the safe keep of the personal belongings of candidates.
