UP Govt Removes UPPRPB Chairperson amid Allegations of UP Police Paper Leak

UPPRPB Chairperson Renuka Mishra has been removed by the Uttar Pradesh Government on March 5, 2024, amid allegations of the question paper of a constable recruitment examination being leaked. The UP Police Constable exam which was conducted on February 17 & 18, 2024, was declared cancelled by the UP Government due to paper leak allegations.

On March 5, 2024, the Uttar Pradesh Government announced that the Chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) Renuka Mishra had been removed from her duties with immediate effect amid allegations of the question paper of a UP Police constable recruitment examination being leaked. 

The Chairperson, Renuka Mishra, has been replaced with IPS Officer Rajeev Krishna (Batch 1991), days after the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak. Candidates can read the official notification in the image below.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Constable exam which was conducted on February 17 and 18, 2024, was declared cancelled on February 24 by UP Government due to allegations of paper leaks. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, also announced that a re-exam will be held within 6 months.

The government has announced the formation of a Special Task Force (STF) to investigate the allegations of a paper leak. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that the sanctity of examinations should not be compromised and strict action will be taken against those who interfere with the hard work of students. He assured that unruly elements will not be spared and will face the strictest action possible. 

Simultaneously, the Uttar Pradesh Police has taken swift action against individuals suspected of engaging in unfair practices during the examination. A total of 244 individuals have been apprehended across Uttar Pradesh on charges related to planning to cheat or adopting unfair means during the UP Police Constable 2024 examination. This decisive action underscores the authorities' determination to preserve the sanctity of the examination process and deter any attempts at malpractice.
