In a recent development, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2024, originally scheduled for May 26, to June 16. The decision comes in light of the impending Lok Sabha Elections, as announced by the Election Commission.
The UPSC, in a statement released on its official website, cited the necessity to reschedule the exam due to the upcoming General Election. This move aims to ensure the smooth conduct of both the Civil Services and the Indian Forest Service Examinations.
The Civil Services Examination, known for its rigorous selection process, witnesses lakhs of candidates vying for a chance to join prestigious services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Forest Service (IFS). The UPSC Notification 2024, issued on February 14, marked the commencement of the application process for this coveted examination.
