UPSC Vacancies Trends
UPSC IAS Vacancies 2025: The Union Public Service Commission will be releasing the UPSC IAS vacancies details along with the official notification. Candidates can download the UPSC IAS vacancy 2025 notification online at the official website: upsc.gov.in. In line with the annual trend, there will be 180 IAS vacancies and 200 IPS vacancies. Along with this, the UPSC IAS application form 2025 will also be released. The UPSC Civil Services online application window will be available till February 11, 2025. Candidates can fill out the UPSC IAS application form only in online mode by visiting the official website.
UPSC Vacancies Trends
In 2024, the Commission announced 1,056 vacancies for the Civil Services Examination and 150 for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS). In 2023, the commission announced 1,105 vacancies in civil services, marking the highest number in the last seven years. In comparison, UPSC in 2022, released 1,011 vacancies, compared to 712 in 2021 and 796 in 2020.
In 2019, the government decided to exclude IRMS from civil services and opted to conduct the exam through the engineering services exam, resulting in a reduction of 150-200 vacancies. However, in 2022, the government reversed this decision and reintroduced IRMS in civil services, leading to the highest number of vacancies in the last 10 years.
Past Year's UPSC Vacancies
The UPSC do not specify the vacancies by post or service in the official notification. It only mentioned the total number of vacancies, which is tentative. The final number of vacancies for the IAS exam is determined and released by the Ministry of Personnel on its official website. Candidates can check the table to know the number of vacancies released for UPSC from the year 2024 to 2019.
