UPSC Exam Analysis 2023 Available: CSE(IAS) Expected Cutoff, Question Paper, Answer Key Updates
UPSC Exam Analysis 2023 is available here for the candidates. The Commission increased the answer option pattern, introduced last year, to more questions. The Commission asked questions on all topics except Ancient History and the Mughals. Some candidates were expecting more questions from Modern History. The UPSC prelims 2023 was a conceptual paper and few questions were factual in orientation. The candidates who are good at elimination are expected to score better in the paper. The Commission increased multidisciplinary questions in the paper. There was an increase in questions from international relations, environment and Science and Technology in the paper. There were no surprising elements in the paper as such and the Commission has followed its standards. The UPSC expected cutoff 2023 will be around 85 - 90 marks.
UPSC Exam Analysis 2023 Live: The first paper of the UPSC prelims 2023 exam was over at 11.30 AM. The candidates who appeared in the paper shared their experiences with Shiksha.com. They shared that the UPSC prelims paper 2023 was a conceptual paper. The Commission asked a few factual questions that too were easy. The paper requires in-depth knowledge of the topics to answer the questions. The Commission increased the answer option pattern (introduced last year) to more questions. This made the paper little bit difficult because the candidates who knew the correctness of all the answer options could given the right answer. Another way around is that the candidates are good at elimination are expected to score better in the paper.
The Commission released the CSE (IAS) 2023 admit card on May 8. The Commission conducted the IAS prelims exam in offline mode. There are two papers in the UPSC prelims exam and the candidates will be required to appear and clear both papers.

UPSC Exam Analysis 2023
The IAS prelims 2023 will be conducted in offline mode. It is considered one of the toughest exams across the globe because of the enormity of the IAS syllabus and the structure of the question paper. The Commission changes the structure of the answer options and make them more complex.

UPSC Exam 2023 Topic-wise Breakup
The candidates shared that there were few questions from Ancient History and no questions from Mughals. Some candidates shared that the questions from Science and Technology, Environment and static GK were increased. The Commission always ask some difficult questions in the paper which decide the selection of the candidates. The Commission ask some easy questions, a majority of moderate questions and some difficult questions. The candidates who answer correctly the easy questions and most of the moderate questions and some difficult questions are selected for the UPSC prelims exam. UPSC Expected Cutoff 2023
The Commission will release the UPSC cutoff 2023 after the declaration of the final result next year. The UPSC cutoff depends on the difficulty level of the question papers and the number of vacancies notified for the UPSC exam. The Commission notified 1,105 vacancies this year so it is expected that the cutoff will remain around 85 marks out of 200.
The expected cutoff will be calculated based on the difficulty level of the paper.
UPSC Answer Key 2023
The candidates should note that the official UPSC answer key will be released next year after the declaration of the final result. The UPSC answer key of the previous year is yet to be released. Various coaching institutes release the UPSC answer key but answers to some of the application-based questions are given incorrectly in most of the answer keys. Moreover, sometimes, Commission drops the question from the paper and reduces the total marks which cannot be reported by the coaching institutes.

UPSC Exam 2023 : Exam Day Guidelines
The Commission released the exam day guidelines for the candidates with the admit card. The Commission compel the candidates to read the exam day guidelines before downloading the admit card. The candidates were required to confirm that they read the exam day guidelines.
- The candidates were required to carry the identity card whose number is printed on the admit card itself. Such detailed were filled at the time of UPSC applications 2023.
- The candidates should reach the UPSC exam centres ten minutes before the commencement time of the IAS prelims exam. The candidates might be asked for frisking and it requires time.
- All types of electronic or communication devices are prohibited at the exam venue. The candidates cannot carry the mobile device even in the switch off mode. If the candidate is found with any such device, disciplinary action will be taken against him/her which could lead to a ban from the future UPSC exams.
- The candidates should mark their answers on the OMR sheet with a black ballpoint pen only. The answers marked by any other colour pen will not be evaluated.
- If the candidate mark any specific mark on the roll number or the details given in the answer sheet
- The candidates should note that any omission/ mistake/discrepancy in encoding/filling in details in the OMR answer sheet, especially with regard to Roll Number and Test Booklet Series Code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection. Though, it can be changed at the exam venue itself if the invigilator permits to do so.
