The UPSC is expected to announce the new exam dates for IAS prelims 2020. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) had issued a notice on May 4 stating that the new exam dates of IAS 2020 and others will be issued on May 20 after assessing the situation. The IAS 2020 prelims exam was scheduled to be conducted on May 31 but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The IAS interview 2019 was also postponed to a future date because of the pandemic. The IAS personality test 2019 was scheduled to be conducted from February 17 to April 3. But because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the remaining IAS interviews scheduled from March 23 to April 3 were postponed.

The UPSC exam is a prestigious exam and the lakhs of candidates prepare for the IAS exam rigorously. IAS exam is conducted based on the IAS exam pattern notified in the official UPSC notification. The UPSC notification 2020 was issued on February 18 and the last date to fill the UPSC IAS application was March 3. The UPSC was expected to issue the IAS prelims admit card three weeks before the original UPSC prelims exam date but the exam was postponed.

Now, as per our estimation, the IAS prelims is expected to be conducted in July or August. The UPSC can further postpone the IAS prelims 2020 exam if the conditions deteriorate in the country.
