Schools, colleges to remain closed in Rajasthan until November 16

Schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions to remain closed across Rajasthan until November 6, the state government announced.

Rajasthan government has announced that all the schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions across the state will remain closed for students and regular classes until November 16, 2020. The Rajasthan government made has issued the Unlock 6 guidelines. 

The state government has also announced that swimming pools, cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, entertainment parks, and similar places will remain closed for activities, and large congregations not permitted, till November 30 in Unlock 6 guidelines. Earlier the schools in the state for classes 9 to 12 were scheduled to reopen from today; November 2, 2020. A ready proposal was sent by the State Education Department to the government. However, the proposal for reopening schools for senior classes from November 2 was canceled by the state government.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot while releasing the Unlock 6 guidelines also said that the state is in the process to recruit 2,000 doctors. He tweeted, "The recruitment process of 2000 doctors in the state should be completed soon. As a result of the examination, the selected doctors should complete the entire process within 10 days and be given an appointment soon. This will help in the treatment of other diseases including corona."

Also, the Board of Secondary Education has issued an order on October 31 for a change of school time after reopening on November 2. As per the order, in this session 2020-21, the time of one shift school will be from 10 am to 4 pm from 2 November 2020, while the time of two-shift school will also be as per permanent majority order February 14, 2019.
