AIU hosts webinar - "Education partnership between India and the US"

Aligarh Muslim University has taken requisite measures and is promoting the engagement of faculty, students, and staff members in the webinar scheduled for 6 pm today.

The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), in partnership with the American Centre, New Delhi, is set to host a webinar titled "Education partnership between India and the United States: Launching an Innovative Professional Master's Program" on November 14 at 6 PM (IST).

Part of the webinar series is organized under the Indian Network for Internationalization of Higher Education (INIHE). This initiative is directed by the Association of Indian Universities to promote the internationalization of higher education in line with NEP 2020 recommendations. The webinar series seeks to create a repository of knowledge resources beneficial for higher education institutions in addressing diverse challenges.

Prof. Akhilesh Lakhtakia, a Jefferson Science Fellow at the State Department’s South and Central Asia Bureau, will be the keynote speaker. He designed and developed the Innovative Professional Master's Degree Program. Prof. Lakhtakia, currently Evan Pugh University Professor at the Pennsylvania State University, will shed light on the mechanisms fostering Indo-US education partnership, with a special focus on the Professional Master's Degree Program.

This event is aligned with the International Education Week celebration and aims to update the Indian academic community on recent developments in Indo-US educational collaboration. The focus is on the one-year Innovative Professional Master's Degree Program, created and launched by the United States Department with the endorsement of NEP 2020. This program offers Indian students a unique opportunity to pursue a one-year professional Master's degree with industrial specializations in American universities.

AMU has taken requisite measures and is promoting the engagement of faculty, students, and staff members in the webinar scheduled for 6 pm today.
