Allahabad University warns students to not get misled by unruly elements

To get justice for MA student Abhishek Gupta, students have been protesting at the library gate for almost one and a half weeks, and now the university has warned them of disciplinary actions.

The University of Allahabad has appealed to students that they must pursue their studies without getting misled by unruly elements. Strict disciplinary action will be taken if they are found involved in any kind of indiscipline, said the university.

"The students involved in the miscreants who blocked the entrances to the Senate complex of the university are being identified. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against them. The students coming out of the hostels have been identified," said the university on the social media platform X.

"Along with filing a first information report against them to the police, they will be expelled from the university. Some students coming from constituent colleges have also been identified. Some former students have also been identified. Along with filing a first information report against all of them, the degree awarded to them will be returned," added the university.

The students have been protesting to get justice for MA student Abhishek Gupta. On Thursday, the National President of Azad Adhikar Sena and former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur reached the protest site and supported the students. On this Chief Proctor Dr Rakesh Singh has given a complaint to the Colonelganj police to register an FIR against 250 unknown people, naming the former IPS officer and seven students. In the complaint given by the Proctor, it was alleged that the former IPS officer and these students closed all the gates of the Senate complex of the university.
