The AMU community praised the event, which reflected the hard work and dedication of students while underscoring a multidisciplinary approach, establishment of industry-relevant standards, robust curricula, and international benchmarked skilling opportunities.
Faculty members, staff and students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) participated in an online "Kaushal Deekshant Samaroah," on October 12, 2023. The event was celebrated within AMU campus, across schools, departments, and Halls of Residence within the AMU campus. The attendees watched the live coverage of the Annual Skill Convocation Ceremony.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and other dignitaries addressed the gathering, further reinforcing the commitment to skill development.
"Gratitude to Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji for his inspiring address and encouragement to the graduating students of @MSDESkillIndia at the ‘Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh’. Heartiest congratulations to all the 10.60 lakh students of our skilling ecosystem who have received their skill certifications today. Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh is an effort towards #SkillKoSamman and a celebration of the skilling talent of our country," tweeted the Education Minister.
Glad to see an increase in the number of women receiving skill certifications. This is a humble reminder of the growing participation of women in our workforce over the years. India’s unemployment rate has declined from 6% in 2017 to 3.2% in 2022-22. During the same period, we have added 1.5 core citizens to the skilling ecosystem, he added.
The world of skill is evolving. Our skilling ecosystem will also have to evolve and make skill development more aspirational. NEP emphasises on integration of schooling and skilling. Through Skill India Digital Portal, developing skill courses in emerging and applied areas and integrating them into the school curriculum, we are making efforts to create new opportunities and meet the skilling needs of our diverse and talented Yuva Shakti. We are committed to skill and up-skill a vast percentage of our ever-growing workforce to fulfil the vision of Viksit Bharat and make India a global skills hub, he said in another tweet.
The event featured participation from students hailing from prestigious skill development institutes, including Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK), Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), DGT, PMKVY, SANKALP, apprentices, IIE, NIPUN, Skill India International Centre, NIESBUD, and Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS).
