BHU: Admissions open for PhD courses 2023-24; Apply by Dec 27

BHU PhD Admission 2023-24: Admissions are open for PhD courses 2023-24 at Banaras Hindu University. The last date to submit the application form is December 27, 2023.

Research Entrance Test namely, BHU-RET and Research Ability Test (For RET Exempted Candidates) shall be held tentatively in the month of December 2023. Both the tests will be conducted in the Pen-Paper Mode. All eligible candidates on the basis of entrance test/Written Examination marks will be called to appear in an interview in the Department/Centre of the concerned discipline. The maximum mark for an interview will be 25.

BHU PhD Admission 2023 Structure

The PhD admission 2023 will be given on Merit based on total marks/scores of 100 that will come from three components that include:

• Academic Performance with maximum marks/scores of 25
• Marks obtained/computed in a written examination- Research Ability Test for Exempted Category and NTA-RET/BHU-RET for candidates appearing in the said tests with maximum marks/scores of 50
• Interview with the maximum marks/scores of 25.  

BHU-RET for all disciplines will be held in Centres at Varanasi. New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai shall also be Test Centres provided the number of examinees on a particular centre on a particular shift is a minimum of hundred. 

"The BHU-RET 2023 Information Bulletin is available on the BHU portal. The application Form for BHU RET and for exempted category shall be available on the BHU website shortly. The entire process of making BHU-RET 2023 application for admission in various disciplines/programmes during the academic session 2023-24 shall be made ONLINE," reads the official notification.
