BHU Infrastructure upgrade will include a new girls' hostel with a capacity of over 1000 students, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Hostel to double in capacity and the development of Vishwanath Temple at the premises.
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is undergoing through major revamp and upgrade in the existing infrastructure and the development of new facilities. The authorities aim to provide better facilities with a motive for optimal utilisation of resources.
BHU Infrastructure to Get Major Upgrade
The major revamp will include construction of a new state-of-the-art girls’ hostel at Mahila Mahavidyalaya, development of academic and residential blocks at the Kamachha Campus, upgradation and extension of Bhagwan Das as well as Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Hostels, modernization and upgradation of display galleries of Bharat Kala Bhawan, construction of Vishram Sadan for attendants of patients coming to BHU for treatment, restoration and face Lifting of the main building for Department of Chemistry, renovation & upgradation of Central Library building, as well as developing a dedicated facility for student activities.
“We want to make sure that there is optimal utilization of the university infrastructure, while the glorious legacy of BHU is kept intact. Over the past one and a half years we have undertaken detailed work on BHU’s master planning, identifying challenges and possible solutions.” Says Vice-Chancellor, BHU.
University Aims to Increase Hostel Seats
The university aims to increase the facilities for its girls' students by increasing the seats in girls hostel. Currently, a 1200-seat girl hostel is under construction and 100+ capacity is proposed to be increased with spacious rooms, social spaces, dining halls, reading and medical rooms, as well as provision of lodging facility for parents of students.
Further, the Vice-Chancellor was briefed about the upcoming Critical Care Hospital at the Trauma Centre Premises which will have a 190+ bed facility to cater to patients' needs at BHU hospital. The facility will also include a dedicated Burns ICU of 20 beds.
BHU Admission 2024 Through CUET
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) accepts CUET UG scores for admission in undergraduate programmes while CUET PG scores are accepted for admission in postgraduate programmes at the university. Students with valid CUET scores have to register online at bhuonline.in. The authorities release the BHU cutoff 2024 for each course. Students who qualify the cutoff become eligible for admission.
