In its debut year, 12.50 lakh students had registered and 9.9 lakh students submitted their applications. For CUET UG 2023, a total of 16.85 lakh students have registered. Delhi University (DU) has received the highest number of CUET Applications, followed by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) with second highest number of applicants and Allahabad University as the third highest. The maximum number of applications have been received from Uttar Pradesh followed by Delhi and Bihar.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar has informed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has received nearly 14 lakh applications for CUET 2023. The NTA will be conducting the Common University Entrance Test (CUET ) 2023 from May 21 onwards. The UGC Chairman further informed that Delhi University (DU) has received the highest number of CUET Applications, followed by Banaras Hindu University (BHU) with second highest number of applicants and Allahabad University as the third highest. The maximum number of applications have been received from Uttar Pradesh followed by Delhi and Bihar.

βOut of 16.85 lakhs, 13.995 lakhs paid the application fee and submitted the application formβan increase of 4.0 lakh students. In 2023, there is a 41% increase in the total number of students who will sit for CUET-UG,β the UGC Chairman tweeted.
The UGC Chairman further informed that this year 1,000 foreign students have applied for the CUET 2023. The applications were received from more than 74 countries. The NTA had closed the CUET Application Form 2023 correction window yesterday; i.e. April 3, 2023.
CUET UG 2023 registration began on February 9, 2023. The last date to apply was March 12, 2023. However, the UGC Chairman and NTA had later decided to extend the last date to March 30, 2023. The correction window for the application was available for candidates from April 1 to 3, 2023.
