NTA has released an important notice for CUET UG 2023 candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, who passed Class 10 in 2021. For such candidates, the mandatory marks and Result Mode fields have been disabled as they were not given marks and ‘pass’ was printed for all subjects due to COVID outbreak and exam cancellation. Know the details here.
The CUET UG 2023 registration process has started on February 10. NTA has received a number of representations from candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu, regarding the challenge faced in terms of entering Class 10 qualifying exam marks for those passed in the year 2021. Due to the COVID outbreak, no examinations were conducted for the 2021 batch of Class 10. Accordingly, no marks were given in the marksheet and ‘pass’ is printed in all subjects. Hence, such candidates are unable to fill the mandatory field of Class 10 Board exam/qualifying exam marks.
To ease their situation, it has been decided by NTA that during the filling up the CUET 2023 application form, when a candidate would select ‘Passing year’ as 2021 with ‘School Board’ as Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination (Secondary), the ‘Result Mode’ field will be disabled and the associated fields for Marks / CGPA will be invisible for Tamil Nadu State Board candidates who have passed their Class 10 in the year 2021.
NTA stated, “For those candidates who have already filled the application form, with passing year as 2021, School board as Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination (Sec.) and paid the fee, the same rule will be applied i.e. field Result Mode will be disabled and fields Total Marks, Obtained Marks, Percentage of Marks will remain invisible in the online Application Form of CUET (UG) – 2023.”
The notice also added, “With reference to the modification mentioned above, it is further re-iterated that no candidate will face any adverse issue with respect to filling-in of CUET (UG) - 2023 Application Form.”
Candidates must note that this facility has been provided only for Tamil Nadu candidates and not for other states. Hence, applicants from other states must fill in all the mandatory fields and pay the requisite application fee to complete the process successfully.
